Volta Atelier

Fernanda Nascimento Daudt is a Brooklyn-based Brazilian consultant and social entrepreneur with a background in design and supply chain. Fernanda is passionate about bridging social and environmental justice through ethical, regenerative business practices.

Volta Atelier creates 100% hand-stitched upcycled leather handbags. We carefully select discarded leather from accessories factories, and our skilled artisans hand-stitch our one-of-a-kind products in Brazil. In partnership with local NGOs, we contribute to the empowerment of women through the capacitation and provision of an income source. Our mission is to encourage a circular economy, breathing life back into lost cultural heritage and growing communities from the ground up.

Fernanda was referred to Renaissance by its partner, the Queens Small Business Development Center (SBDC), which is a technical assistance arm of the Small Business Administration (SBA). Seeking working capital for inventory, marketing, and advertising, Fernanda received hands-on guidance from a Renaissance business advisor and secured a $25,000 loan through Renaissance.
